Are you looking for someone who left to sell magazines? At this point in time, I am just starting to add links and information on how to search for your child or a friend after they "run off" with a magazine/soap crew. Hopefully, I will be able to offer a comprehensive list of organizations or web site links you can call/visit to aide with your search. In the meantime, here are some helpful hints.
- The first
place to try is Parent
Watch, Inc.
- Earlene Williams dedicates her life to helping parents find
their children.
- The first
place to try is your local police department. Call and
ask them if there have been any complaints on door-to-door salespeople.
Most crews do not register for a permit to solicit like they are
required to do. Therefore, crew salespeople are "hauled"
in for soliciting without a permit. Your local police department
may be able to inform you of crews that have been in your area.
You may be able to track down the crew your child/friend is on
through the information they provide you.
- Call the
better business bureau! They get complaints continually about
the crews. Visit BBB.org
to check out a company.
- There
are many many missing persons sites on the WWW. Try searching
for these sites and leaving messages on message boards. Its worth
a shot.
